DescriptionGraphite pencil etching. Etching of a deer and three birds. The deer is running and the three birds are flying. There are various plant designs visible. The etching is black and white. It is double matted with a light blue matte bordering the item and a light brown overlay matte. As of 09/03/2010, in Past Perfect, the item was sealed in plastic (it is no longer sealed in plastic 10-26-2015). Stacy also stated plastic wrapping as one of the individual components in the Condition Report dated 8-11-14. The photographs taken on 8/14 show the item without the plastic. There is a biography of Woody Crumbo stuck loosely on the back of the item which includes list of "Honors, Awards, and Activities" and "Publications". This information is on blue paper (see photographs in computer file H:\Collections-Ethnology Division\1997 Acquisitions). There is also another piece of blue paper below the biography that reads "Woody Crumbo authorized estate 1989 "Sign of Spring" (C). This is to certify that the accompanying artwork was produced by or under the direction of Woody Crumbo. Original etching. This piece was cataloged and handled by the Crumbo Family. Titled and Signed by Woody Crumbo". On the proper bottom edge of the etching reads "Sign of Spring" and "Woody M. Crumbo" (written in graphite). *Note- More information in the Wood M.
