Description1940 Business Committee Resolutions 1-4

Tribal Council Meeting reading and approving the following resolutions:

Resolution #1- It is the desire of Citzen Potawatomi Nation to have all names removed from the rolls which were not on the approved roll of 1865, or who are not descended from a person whose name did appear on the approved Citizen Band roll of 1865.

Resolution #2- Request to lease for oil, gas and other mineral purposes reservation containing 575,859 acres, this tract "shall be patented to the Potawatomi Nation."

Resolution #3- Resolution submitted in protest against the modified part of Section 15 of Resolution #2 Act as approved by the Act of Congress on August 12, 1936 (Public 260-74th Congress, 1st Session).

Resolution #4- Resolution of protest against the passage of Bill S. 3083 that was introduced in the Senate of the United States and referring to the Committee on the Judiciary.

Other Business included: the reading of Bill S. 4349. Recomended alteration of Section 14.

Members present were: Wm. Trousdale, Chairman, Mrs. Sadie Hardin, Vice-Chairman and Mr. Frank Wano, Member.

Other Members read and approved: Mrs. Alice Wardchow, Secretary-Treasurer and Mr. Dan Bourassa, Member.
