Description64-1: SUMMARY: Regular Business Committee Meeting Resolution- Establishing the operating budget for the Citizen Band of Potawatomi Indians of Oklahoma for Fiscal Year 1965. TRANSCRIPTION: POTT-64-1 POTT-64-1 CITIZEN BAND OF POTAWATOMI INDIANS OF OKLAHOMA SHAWNEE AGENCY REGULAR BUSINESS COMMITTEE MEETING March 10, 1964 RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE CITIZEN BAND OF POTAWATOMI INDIANS OF OKLAHOMA FOR FISCAL YEAR 1965 WHEREAS:Resolution Pott-63-7 adopted under date of June 29, 1963 provided $8,300.00 for operation of the Tribe for fiscaI year 1964 and said funds were not received until October 17, 1963, and WHEREAS:There is presently $7,200.00 remaining in a local depository and we do not anticipate the need for additional funds during fiscal year 1965, and WHEREAS:The $4000.00 requested by Resolution Pott-63-7 for repairs of the Community House will not all be expended this fiscal year since it may be our desire to move the Community House from its present location to a new site on lands on which congressional action is now pending, and WHEREAS:it is expected that we will utilize approximately $2000.00 for the balance of this fiscal year 1964. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the funds in the amount of $5,200.00 be rebudgeted for use in fiscal year 1965 as follows: Per Diem $ 600.00 Secretarial assistance and materiaI for voucher $1,700.00 Office supplies$ 300.00 Community House (repairs and protection) $2,600.00 Total $5,200.00
CERTIFICATION We hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by a vote of 5 in favor and None voting against, there being a quorum of the Business Committee present at a Regular Business Committee Meeting held March 10, 1964. Dan Nadeau, Chairman Bernard Heer, Secretary


64-2: SUMMARY: Regular Business Committee Meeting Resolution- To amend Resolution Pott 62-7 adopted December 12, 1961 pertaining to procedure for establishment of actual degree of Citizen Band of Potawatomi Indian Blood. TRANSCRIPTION: POTT-64-2 POTT-64-2 CITIZEN BAND OF POTAWATOMI INDIANS OF OKLAHOMA SHAWNEE AGENCY REGULAR BUSINESS COMMITTEE MEETING March 10, 1964 RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION TO AMEND RESOLUTION ON POTT-62-7 ADOPTED DECEMBER 12, 1961 PERTAINING TO PROCEDURE FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF ACTUAL DEGREE OF CITIZEN BAND OF POTAWATOMI INDIAN BLOOD WHEREAS: The foregoing resolution, Pott-62-7, provided the following procedure: ""Now Therefore Be It Resolved: That each applicant for enrollment shall be required to submit their proof as to quantum of Citizen Band of Potawatomi Indian blood of Okla- homa to the Tribal Council, at any Regular or Special Meet- ing, and obtain a majority vote of said Council approving the increase of their degree of Indian blood above what may be shown on the 1937 Census Roll."" and WHEREAS: This procedure does not give the Tribal secretary or business committee the opportunity to review the proof as to quantum of Citizen Band of Potawatomi Indian of Oklahoma blood submitted by the applicant prior to the Council Meeting, and WHEREAS: This does not give the tribal secretary or business committee an opportunity to investigate the proof submitted as to the validity and therefore the tribe is not protected as is the responsibility of the tribal business committee. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That Resolution Pott-62-7 adopted under date of December 12, 1961 shall be and is hereby amended to include the following stipulations and requirements; Each applicant for enrollment, or each person making application to have their quantum of Citizen Band of Potawatomi Indian of Oklahoma blood degree increased on the Tribal Roll must submit their proof to the tribal secretary by no later than March 15th of each year. After the review and investigation by the business committee of the material submitted the tribal secretary shall return such material to the applicant in sufficient time so that it may he presented to the General Council by the applicant, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That applications for the increase of degree of Citizen Band Potawatomi indian blood can be submitted only to the Annual, or Regular, Council Meeting which is held during the last week of June each year. CERTIFICATION We hereby certify, that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by a vote of 5 in favor and None voting against, there being a quorum of the Business Committee present at a Regular Business Committee Meeting held March 10, 1964.
