TRANSCRIPTION: POTT-66-1 POTT-66-1 CITIZEN BAND OF POTAWATOMI INDIANS OF OKLAHOMA SHAWNEE AGENCY SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING November 20, 1965 RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION FOR THE AMENDMENT OF ATTORNEYS CONTRACT WHEREAS: Under a contract which has been in effect since 1948, and which was extended by an agreement dated July 27, 1963 and approved August 28, 1963 by the Acting Area Director, Anadarko Area Office, Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Citizen Band of Potawatomi Indians of Oklahoma, has retained the law firms of Blake, Voorhees & Stewart, and Adams, Moses & Culver, referred to as the Attorneys, to prosecute its claims against the United States, and WHEREAS: In the prosecution of such claims the Attorneys have for many years associated with them Louis L. Rochmes, an attorney of Washington D.C., and WHEREAS: The Citizen Band and the Attorneys believe that it is in the interest of the Citizen Band that said Louis L. Rochmes be made a party to said contract. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the said contract be amended by substituting for the first paragraph thereof a new paragraph to read as follows: THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into by and between Dan Nadeau, Chairman; A. B. Pecore, Vice Chairman; Bernard Heer, Secretary, acting for and on behalf of the Citizen Band of Potawatomi Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma, hereinafter referred to as the TRIBE, and the law firms of BLAKE, VOORHEES & STEWART, 20 Exchange Place, New York, ADAMS, MOSES & CULVER, 231 South La Salle Street, Chicago, Illinois, and LOUIS L. ROCHMES, 1300 Connecticut Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C., hereinafter referred to as ATTORNEYS, shall take effect August 5, 1963, to continue in effect the contract to represent the Citizen Band of Potawatomi Indians of Oklahoma and supplement the existing contract which expires on the 4th day of August, 1963. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT: A. B. Pecore, Chairman, Ennis Madole, Vice-Chairman, and Bernard Heer, Secretary be and they are hereby authorized to represent the Citizen Band of Potawatomi Indians as delegates and to sign an agreement effecting such Amendment. CERTIFICATION We hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by a vote of 58 for and 1 against, of the Special Council, there being a quorum present at the meeting. A.B. TRANSCRIPTION: POTT-66-2 POTT-66-2 CITIZEN BAND OF POTAWATOMI INDIANS OF OKLAHOMA SHAWNEE AGENCY SPECIAL BUSINESS COMMITTEE MEETING December 13, 1965 RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE REMAINDER OF THE JUDGMENT FUNDS FROM DOCKET 111 BE RETURNED WHEREAS: The Citizen Band of Potawatomi Indians of Oklahoma made a per capita distribution to its living enrolled members in 1960 from monies received because of a claim against the United States Government in Docket No. 111, and WHEREAS: There is approximately $7,000.00 of unclaimed money in the Muskogee Area Office because of tribal members who were deceased or have failed to claim their per capita share, and WHEREAS: The Tribe has land that needs a great deal of immediate work done it to protect the Tribe from any liability suits, such work as dynamiting abandoned open wells, manholes and cess- pool and then having the ground bulldozed in to fill the large holes before some person is drowned and the Tribe is held responsible. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the remaining Judgment funds from the per capita distribution of Docket No. 111 be returned to the Citizen Band Potawatomi Tribal account in a local depository in accordance with Paragraph 6, Resolution Pott- 60-5, dated October 14, 1959 for financing aforesaid Tribal Expenses. …ILLEGIBLE…AMENDMENT TO ATTORNEYS CONTRACT …ILLEGIBLE…by and between A.
