RESOLUTION # 10-01-HHS
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EXTENSION OF THE CITIZEN
POTAWATOMI NATION SECTION 184 LOAN PROGRAM SERVICES TO
TRIBAL MEMBERS LIVING IN THE STATE OF TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is a federally recognized Tribe of
American Indians with Constitutional authority under the Act of June 18,
1934 and the Oklahoma Indian Welfare Act of June 26, 1936, (49 Stat.
1967); and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation has sovereign powers that are inherent in
Tribal tradition, derived from a history of organized self-government since
time immemorial, and recognized by treaties with the United States and in
the Constitution of the United States; and
WHEREAS, Article 4, Section 3 of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Constitution
provides for a separation of powers of the Tribal government by the
reservation and delegation of specific powers to other entities of the Tribal
government; and, except for these specific limitations, all other general
powers of government are embodied in the Legislature's authority "to
enact legislation, transact business, and otherwise speak and act on behalf
of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation in all matters on which the Nation is
empowered to act now or in the future"; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation recognizes the important
need to assist tribal members secure safe, affordable housing for
themselves and their families; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature feels that extending the Section 184 Loan Program services
to tribal members in the state of Texas will help mitigate predatory lending
practices and help ensure the financial security of tribal members and their
families; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Legislature that tribal
members be able to apply for 'financing for the construction and/or
purchase of family residences on fee simple or trust land within the
jurisdiction of the Nation by prescribing procedures for the recording,
priority, and foreclosure of leasehold mortgages given to secure loans
made by private lenders and fully guaranteed by the Department of
Housing and Urban Development under the Indian Housing Loan
Guarantee Program authorized under Section 184 of the Housing and
Community Development Act of 1992, as amended by the Native
American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act of 1996
(NAHASDA). Pub. L. 104-330 (A.K.A. Section 184).
WHEREAS, this request to participate in the Section 184 Loan Program within the State
of Texas, as submitted, is intended to recognize and be consistent with the
Citizen Potawatomi Nation's sovereign right to self determination.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE
CITIZEN POTAWATOMI NATION that a resolution extending the Section 184 Loan
Program services to tribal members living in the state of Texas IS HEREBY
APPROVED.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND SUPPORTING THE CITIZEN POTAWATOMI
NATION'S PROPOSED FATHER MURPHY PHASE III CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
APPLICATION FOR FUNDING THROUGH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF
HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT THROUGH THE NATIVE AMERICAN
HOUSING BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM UNDER THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND
REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is a federally recognized Tribe of American Indians
with Constitutional authority under the Oklahoma Indian Welfare Act of June 26,
1936, (49 Stat. 1967); and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation has sovereign powers that are inherent in Tribal
tradition, derived from a history of organized self-government since time
immemorial, and recognized by treaties with the United States and in the Constitution
of the United States; and
WHEREAS, Article 7, Section 2 of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Constitution provides for a
separation of powers of the Tribal government by the reservation and delegation of
specific powers to other entities of the Tribal government; and, except for these
specific limitations, all other general powers of government are embodied in the
Business Committee's authority "to enact legislation, transact business, and
otherwise speak and act on behalf of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation in all matters on
which the Nation is empowered to act now or in the future;" and
WHEREAS, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 appropriates funding for this
program to preserve and create jobs, promote economic recovery and to assist those
most impacted by the recession; and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is submitting an application for Father Murphy Phase
III Project, the infrastructure for nineteen duplexes and construction of ten elder
housing duplexes to be located adjacent to the existing Father Murphy Phases I-II
complex within the Tribal Jurisdictional Area; and
WHEREAS, the elder housing infrastructure and construction project is an eligible project in which
Federal funding, if awarded, may be provided by the NAHBG-ARRA program; and

WHEREAS, the project period for the proposed elder housing infrastructure and construction project
is up to 21 months, with a total project cost of $2,921,831 of which $2,745,831 or
94%, is the Federal share, and $ 176,000, or 6%, the non-Federal leverage share; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature authorizes in-kind resources of land, recently appraised at $116,000, and
drilling of forty geothermal well bores, valued at $60,000, to be used as leverage if
this grant is awarded
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE CITIZEN
POTAWATOMI NATION, that a resolution authorizing and supporting the Citizen Potawatomi
Nation's proposed Father Murphy Phase III construction project application for funding IS HEREBY
APPROVED.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that by act of this resolution and
consistent with the separation of powers defined in the Constitution, if awarded, an appropriation of
Federal funds in the amount of $2,745,831 from the NAHBG-ARRA Competitive fund and an in-
kind appropriation of land and drilling of forty geothermal well bores for the implementation,
negotiation, operation, enforcement, procurement, settlement, and or completion of this contract,
regulation or agreement by the Tribal Chairman or his designate IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED.

FISCAL YEAR 2010 DIABETES GRANT - YEAR 13 PROPOSAL TO THE
INDIAN HEALTH SERVICES UNDER THE SPECIAL DIABETES PROGRAMS
FOR INDIAN TRIBES
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is a federally recognized Tribe of
American Indians with Constitutional authority under the Act of June 18,
1934 and the Oklahoma Indian Welfare Act of June 26, 1936, (49 Stat.
1967); and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation has sovereign powers that are inherent in
Tribal tradition, derived from a history of organized self-government since
time immemorial, and recognized by treaties with the United States and in
the Constitution of the United States; and
WHEREAS, Article 4, Section 3 of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Constitution

WHEREAS, in Fiscal Year 2010, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation proposes to continue
its Diabetic Program aimed at diabetic prevention and education and
primary, secondary, and tertiary diabetic services for the Native American
community; and

WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is not required to provide matching or in-
kind donations to receive the funds.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE
CITIZEN POTAWATOMI NATION, that a resolution supporting the "Citizen
Potawatomi Nation's Fiscal Year 2010 Diabetes Grant - Year 13" proposal to the Indian
Health Service under the Special Diabetes Program for Indians, IS HEREBY
APPROVED.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that by act of this resolution
and consistent with the separation of powers defined in the Constitution, if awarded, an
appropriation of $626,735.00 from the Indian Health Service fund (or other applicable
accounts) for the implementation, negotiation, operation, enforcement, procurement,
settlement, and or completion of this contract, compact, regulation or agreement by the
Tribal Chairman or his designate IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED.

WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is a federally recognized Tribe of

Indian Welfare Act of June 26, 1936, (40 Stat. 1967); and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation has sovereign powers that are inherent in
Tribal tradition, derived from a history of organized self-government since
time immemorial, and recognized by treaties with the United States and in
the Constitution of the United States; and
WHEREAS, Article 4, Section 3 of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Constitution
provides for a separation of powers of the Tribal government by the
reservation and delegation of specific powers to other entities of the Tribal
government; and, except for these specific limitations, all other general
powers of government are embodied in the Legislature's authority "to
enact legislation, transact business, and otherwise speak and act on behalf
of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation in all matters on which the Nation is
empowered to act now or in the future"; and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is submitting a Project Scope entitled
"CPN/Walker Road Waterline Ext. " to the U.S. Indian Health Service
(IHS) under the office of Environmental Health Sanitation Facilities
Construction Branch under the authority of P.L. 86-121 for the
construction of sanitation facilities; and

WHEREAS, IHS will provide the funds and the Citizen Potawatomi Nation will
design and construct the facilities under the provisions of the Self-
Governance Compact that became effective on October 1, 1998. The total
cost to IHS for providing sanitation facilities to 99 homes is $186,614.00
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE

11,000 square foot grocery store, in McLoud, Oklahoma; and
WHEREAS, the FireLake Express 2 Grocery Store will meet an essential community development need
by providing economic development, jobs and convenient access to groceries and related
products; and
WHEREAS, a public survey has been published and a public meeting will be held to solicit comments
from Tribal and community members regarding the proposed community development
pursuant to citizen participation requirements as set forth in 24 CFR 1003.604; and

WHEREAS, the FireLake Express 2 Grocery Store project will be constructed following applicable

total project cost of $1,100,000 of which $800,000 (or 73%) is the Federal share, and
$300,000 (or 27%) is Tribal leverage; and
WHEREAS, Tribal leverage will consist of $130,000 cash, in addition to land valued at $45,000 and a
parking lot valued at $125,000.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF USED POLICE VEHICLES

WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is a federally recognized tribe of American Indians
with constitutional authority under the Oklahoma Indian Welfare Act of June 26,
1936, (49 Stat. 1967); and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, the largest of the Potawatomi Indian Tribes, has,
through a continuation of Potawatomi history and organized self government
since time immemorial, sovereign powers inherent in tribal tradition and
recognized by treaties with the United States and in the United States
Constitution; and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Constitution provides that according to Article 7,

program to preserve and create jobs, promote economic recovery and to assist those most
impacted by the recession; and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is submitting a Project Scope entitled
"CPN Individual Water & Sewer" to the U.S. Indian Health Service (IHS) under the
office of Environmental Health Sanitation Facilities Construction Branch under the
authority of P.L. 86-121 for the construction of sanitation facilities ; and
WHEREAS, IHS will provide the funds, and the Citizen Potawatomi Nation will design and construct
the facilities under the provisions of the Self-Governance Compact that became effective
on October 1, 1998. The total cost to IHS for providing sanitation facilities to 25 homes is
$146,091.00

of the most impoverished regions of the United States with the commercial center
of Oklahoma and will provide numerous well-paying jobs for local residents; and

downturn; and
WHEREAS, the reopening of the rail line will feed the proposed CPN Industrial Park and will
also result in significant cost savings for business located along the line and in
fuel efficiencies, thereby reducing oil dependency, truck traffic and greenhouse
emissions.

WHEREAS, the property was purchased with tribal funds for NON-gaming or gaming-related

for projects" to be considered for use of redistributed funds; and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation has an existing Public Law 93-638 compact with
the Bureau of Indian Affairs to plan for transportation improvements within the
Nation's jurisdiction as afforded under the Indian Reservation Roads (IRR)
program; and

both the Macomb and Dale treatment facilities of Rural Water District #3; and
WHEREAS, Resolution #10-04-HHS, was passed on June 29, 2009 approving an increase of
$186,614 in funding for the Citizen Potawatomi Nation's Sanitation Facilities
Construction Program, P.L. 86-121 through the U.S. Indian Health Service
(Project OK 09-Q65) for this water line extension project; and

their own integrated environmental programs, develop the capability to manage
specific programs, and establish a core program for environmental protection;

WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, an eligible applicant, is applying for federal grant
funds in the amount of $265,079.00 over a two-year grant period; and

IHS for providing sanitation facilities to 34 homes is $329,000.00

innovative programs to minimize health and safety risks that result from high
energy burdens on low income families by funding programs that include, but are
not limited to, (1) purchase and/or installation of energy efficiency supplies such
as hot water tank and pipe wraps, insulated blinds, ceiling fans, and Energy Star
appliances, (2) heating/cooling components such as window air conditioners,
propane tanks/lines, programmable thermostats, and gas heaters, (3) safety

assess health and safety issues; and
WHEREAS, if funded, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation will receive an estimated $50,000 in
REACH funds and $10,000 in EEES funds, for a total of $60,000.

WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice's Coordinated Tribal Assistance
Solicitation (CTAS) has announced the availability of grant funds
authorized by 25 U.S.C. § 3681 with the stipulation that these funds are
available for a variety of specified purposes; and

WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is eligible for and desires to apply for
funding under Purpose Area #1 - to improve public safety and enhance
community policing capacity program (COPS) Tribal Resources Grant
Program (TRGP) - and Purpose Area #3 - Bureau of Justice Assistance
(BJA) to develop and enhance the operation of tribal justice systems,
Tribal Courts Assistance Program (TCAP) - of the Coordinated Tribal
Assistance Solicitation; and
WHEREAS, the Tribal Resources Grant Program (TRGP) component provides funding
and technical assistance to proactively address the most serious law
enforcement needs and is soliciting two-year grant applications for travel
and training, equipment, technology and vehicles for tribal law
enforcement agencies; and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is experiencing an increased need for law
enforcement services within the community due to the construction of an
additional health clinic, a family fun center and a youth services facility;
and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is proposing the addition of four police
vehicles with equipment, radio equipment and supplies for a school
DUI/Drug program to the Tribal Police department at an estimated cost of
$242,886 with no match required; and
WHEREAS, the Tribal Courts Assistance Program (TCAP) component provides funding
and technical assistance to enhance the operations of existing tribal courts,
establish a core structure for tribal courts, improve case management,
acquire equipment and software, and train tribal court staff over a 3 year
period; and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation recognizes the need to increase the capacity
and strengthen the infrastructure of the tribal court system and proposes to
accomplish this by: 1) providing equipment and software improvements to
increase court security; 2) enhancing the sound system and recording
equipment thereby increasing the tribe's capacity to collect and share
court-related system data; 3) providing funds for a clerk for more efficient
delivery of court services, increased court utilization, improved
infrastructure of the tribal court, and 4) travel and training, at an estimated
cost of $358,102 with no match required.

Safe, Unzner Center, Family Resource Center and Citizen Potawatomi Nation Tribal
Police, to provide auxiliary services to victims of family violence and their dependents;
and
WHEREAS, the goals of the Family Violence component of the Indian Child Welfare program are to
provide immediate shelter and related assistance to victims of family violence and to
expand efforts to prevent family violence; and

Tribal Self Determination and allows future generations of tribal leaders to have
the flexibility to use the land for the health, welfare, and sovereignty of the
Citizen Potawatomi Nation; and
WHEREAS, Section 5 of the Indian Reorganization Act of June 18, 1934 (48 Stat. 985; 25
USC 465) provides authority for the Fee-to-Trust acquisition; and

WHEREAS, the property was purchased with tribal funds for NON-gaming or gaming-related

and services; and the proposed land use is facilitation of self-determination by the

WHEREAS, Article 4, Section 3 of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Constitution provides for a

under the authority of P.L. 86-121 for the construction of sanitation facilities; and
WHEREAS, IHS will provide the funds and the Citizen Potawatomi Nation will design and
construct the facilities under the provisions of the Self-Governance Compact that
became effective on October 1, 1998. The total cost to IHS for providing
sanitation facilities to 105 homes is $154,800.00; and

WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is a federally recognized Tribe of American
Indians with Constitutional authority under the Act of June 18, 1934 and the
Oklahoma Indian Welfare Act of June 26, 1936, (49 Stat. 1967); and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation has sovereign powers that are inherent in Tribal
tradition, derived from a history of organized self-government since time
immemorial, and recognized by treaties with the United States and in the
Constitution of the United States; and
WHEREAS, Article 4, Section 3 of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Constitution provides for a
separation of powers of the Tribal government by the reservation and delegation
of specific powers to other entities of the Tribal government; and, except for
these specific limitations, all other general powers of government are embodied
in the Legislature's authority "to enact legislation, transact business, and
otherwise speak and act on behalf of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation in all matters
on which the Nation is empowered to act now or in the future"; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Interior Office of Indian Energy and Economic Development
funds special projects of the Public Law 102-477 Tribal Workgroup for native
workforce development including, but not limited to, skilled trade training,
employment case management training, and webcasting of trainings, and is
seeking assistance with administration of these special projects; and
WHEREAS, Citizen Potawatomi Nation operates a P.L. 102-477 program that integrates a
variety of employment, training, education, social services, childcare and related
services, and participates on the Tribal Workgroup with a representative
currently serving as chairman of that workgroup; and

WHEREAS, recognizing the benefits to Native Americans, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation
currently contracts with the Department of Interior Office of Indian Energy and
Economic Development to provide administrative services for special projects of
the P.L. 102-477 Tribal Workgroup; and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation was originally approved for up to $3,000,000 of
funding for the Tribal Workgroup and has been offered up to an additional
$3,000,00 funds to continue and expand the program.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE CITIZEN
POTAWATOMI NATION that a resolution supporting an increase in funding for the P.L. 102-
477 Tribal Workgroup Special Projects contract IS HEREBY APPROVED.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that by act of this resolution and
consistent with the separation of powers defined in the Constitution, if awarded, an appropriation
up to $6,000,000 from the Tribal Workgroup fund (or other applicable accounts) for the
implementation, negotiation, operation, enforcement, procurement, settlement, and or completion
of this contract, compact, regulation or agreement by the Tribal Chairman or his designate IS

allotted lands which is consistent with the spirit and intent of the American
Indian Probate Reform Act; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of undivided interests has the further effect of placing the
management of the land under the administration of the Nation which improves
management control leading to long term improvement of the land and increased
production therefrom; and

WHEREAS, in pursuit of the Nation's program of purchase of undivided interests in trust
allotments, the Director of Real Estate Services is authorized to enter into

Hearings and Appeals as appropriate to complete such purchases.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE CITIZEN
POTAWATOMI NATION that a resolution approving a program of purchase of undivided
interests in trust allotments and authoring the Director of Real Estate Services to enter into
negotiations to carryout such purchases IS HEREBY APPROVED.

WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation amends their currently adopted Long Range
Transportation Plan to include a section that identifies all roads listed in
Attachment A as roads the Citizen Potawatomi Nation wishes to add to their
current IRR inventory; and

Self Determination and allows future generations of tribal leaders to have the flexibility
to use the land for the health, welfare, and sovereignty of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation;

WHEREAS, Section 5 of the Indian Reorganization Act of June 18, 1934 (48 Stat. 985; 25 USC 465)
provides authority for the Fee-to-Trust acquisition; and
WHEREAS, the property is ON-reservation or within the former reservation boundaries of the Citizen
Potawatomi Nation, legally described in Attachment A; and is within Pottawatomie
County, Assessor's Parcel ID Number 000-35-011-002-0-013-00 Section 35 Township
11 North, Range 2 East.

WHEREAS, the property was purchased with tribal funds and the Citizen Potawatomi Nation owns the
surface rights to the property in fee simple; and

WHEREAS, there are improvements on the property which include concrete parking, a three story
parking garage, and a convenience store with fuel storage tanks; and
WHEREAS, the proposed land use is facilitation of Self-Determination by the addition of land
providing parking and other supportive services for FireLake Grand Casino; and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the United States,
its agents and employees, against any lawsuits, loss, expense and claim potentially filed
for any damages relating to environmental concerns, if any, that may arise; and

WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is a federally recognized Tribe of American
Indians with Constitutional authority under the Act of June 18, 1934 and the
Oklahoma Indian Welfare Act of June 26, 1936, (49 Stat. 1967); and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation has sovereign powers that are inherent in Tribal
tradition, derived from a history of organized self-government since time
immemorial, and recognized by treaties with the United States and in the
Constitution of the United States; and
WHEREAS, Article 4, Section 3 of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Constitution provides for a

WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation has an existing Public Law 93-638 compact with
the Bureau of Indian Affairs to plan for transportation improvements within the
Nation's jurisdiction as afforded under the Indian Reservation Roads (IRR)
program; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature approved the Nation's Transportation Improvement Plan via
Resolution #09-49 on February 25, 2009. Resolution #09-49 states the Plan will
be amended by resolution when new Indian Reservation Road projects are
identified and/or priorities change.

Oklahoma Indian Welfare Act of June 26, 1936, (49 Stat. 1967); and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation has sovereign powers that are inherent in
Tribal tradition, derived from a history of organized self-government since
time immemorial, and recognized by treaties with the United States and in the
Constitution of the United States; and
WHEREAS, Article 4, Section 3 of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Constitution provides
for a separation of powers of the Tribal government by the reservation and
delegation of specific powers to other entities of the Tribal government; and,
except for these specific limitations, all other general powers of government
are embodied in the Legislature's authority "to enact legislation, transact
business, and otherwise speak and act on behalf of the Citizen Potawatomi
Nation in all matters on which the Nation is empowered to act now or in the
future"; and
WHEREAS, the Environmental Protection Agency has announced the availability of grant
funds for tribes under the Clean Air Act Section 103 Tribal Air Program; and
WHEREAS, the Environmental Protection Agency is soliciting applications from tribes
under this announcement for projects that develop tribal knowledge of air
quality issues and build tribal expertise to manage air quality on reservations
and tribal lands; and

WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation proposes to submit a grant application to
develop an air emissions inventory, a tool that will be used in future tribal air
quality planning and management, and to build tribal capacity in preparation of
Treatment as a State.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE
CITIZEN POTAWATOMI NATION, that a resolution supporting the Nation's grant
application for a Fiscal Year 2010 Clean Air Act Section 103 Tribal Air grant through the
Environmental Protection Agency IS HEREBY APPROVED.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that by act of this resolution and
consistent with the separation of powers defined in the Constitution, if awarded, an
appropriation of federal funds in the amount of $71,196 from the FY10 Clean Air Act
Section 103 Tribal Air Program (or other applicable accounts) for the implementation,
negotiation, operation, enforcement, procurement, settlement, and or completion of this
contract, regulation or agreement by the Tribal Chairman or his designate IS HEREBY
AUTHORIZED.

THE MILWAUKEE PUBLIC MUSEUM AND OTHER PUBLIC COLLECTIONS
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is a federally recognized Tribe of
American Indians with Constitutional authority under the Act of June 18,
1934 and the Oklahoma Indian Welfare Act of June 26, 1936, (49 Stat.
1967); and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation has sovereign powers that are inherent in

WHEREAS, the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art Director will coordinate efforts through
a Tribal Museum ad hoc representative and present exhibition content to
the respective tribal legislative committee on Tribal Arts and Culture for
tribal consent to publicly discuss and display materials;
WHEREAS, the project planning will commence in September 2010 and an exhibit will
be produced in early 2011 for public display through spring 2012 at a
requested Foundation cost of $20,000; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE
CITIZEN POTAWATOMI NATION that a resolution authorizing and supporting the
Citizen Potawatomi Nation's collaborative grant proposal to the Native Arts and Culture
Foundation for the planning and 2011-2012 exhibition of Potawatomi sacred objects from
the Milwaukee Public Museum and other public collections IS HEREBY APPROVED.
