Descriptiona-One piece of a sign composed of five different pieces made from sheet metal that has been cut, bent, and welded into each wavy shape. The design represents fire, water and grass. We do not have the plastic front that would've been on each item. Each piece has been painted a different color (red, blue, green, yellow, and dark yellow). This piece is painted yellow and was situated with the tip at the top end and the rounded part toward the bottom end (as seen in photographs of the similar signs). It is composed of two 3" wide pieces of sheet metal welded to the back (one piece of sheet metal) on the inside edge. The design crests twice on both sides. This object is the only one of the five pieces that has a rounded end. It would've hung on the proper right side of the sign. They each are open on the proper front and enclosed on the proper back. There are various holes throughout for fastening and running electrical conduit for the lights. This object has one .25" hole on the rounded end toward the middle, one slightly smaller hole on the proper left side .25" inch down from edge of proper front, two similar holes on the proper right side (one located toward pointed top end and one located near the rounded bottom end), two 1" conduit holes on the proper back, and six .25" screw holes in the proper back. There is a seam in the metal on the proper left side toward the rounded end. There is a natural patina on each of the objects (dirt and white plumes- bird excrement?). The sign hung on the North side of FireLake Discount Foods above the convenience store starting 2000/2001 (the grand opening was May 1,2001). The sign was manufactured in Shawnee by Randy's Signs (34305 Waco Rd, Shawnee, OK 74801. 405-273-2564) and was taken down October 1, 2013 when the convenience store moved back to its original location (in the 1970s) across the parking lot. The building was the police station before the convenience store moved back into it.
