TRANSCRIPTION: POTT-74-7 RESOLUTION POTT 74-7 CITIZEN BAND POTAWATOMI INDIANS OF OKLAHOMA SPECIAL BUSINESS COMMITTEE MEETING SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA JULY 20, 1973 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING FUNDING OF $44,893.00 FROM THE BUREAU OF INDIAN AFFAIRS, THROUGH THE CONGRESSIONAL DE- LEGATION, TO CONTINUE THE OPERATION OF THIS MOST VITAL TRIBAL PROGRAM FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE CITIZEN BAND POTAWATOMI TRIBE OF OKLAHOMA. WHEREAS, The Citizen Band Potawatomi Tribe of Oklahoma has received Tribal Government Development monies for fiscal year 1973 in the amount of $20,000.00 for the establishment of a tribal office; and, WHEREAS, the functions of this tribal office have expanded from a planning role for future economic development of tribal properties and resources to a complex entity of social, tribal services; and, WHEREAS, the Citizen Band Potawatomi Tribe of Oklahoma have expanded the current Tribal Government Development Program monies in the amount of $13,100.00 in these areas; and, WHEREAS, the existing programs and proposed services are of a nature that much more staff and operationa expenses are need- ed to keep up with expanded workloads of the Citizen Band Pota- watomi Tribal Office, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Citizen Band Potawatomi Tribe of Oklahoma hereby request the funding of $44,893.00 from the Bureau of Indian Affairs, through the Congressional Delegation, to continue the operation of this most vital tribal program for the members of the Citizen Band Potawatomi Tribe of Oklahoma. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors of the United Indian Tribes of Western Oklahoma and Kansas be autho- rized to seek and assist the Citizen Band Potawatomi in obtain- ing this funding for the continuation of the Tribal Government Development Program. TRANSCRIPTION: POTT 74-8 RESOLUTION POTT-74-8 CITIZEN BAND OF POTAWATOMI INDIANS OF OKLAHOMA SPECIAL BUSINESS MEETING SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA August 17, 1973 A RESOLUTION REMOVING PETE VEITENHEIMER FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CENTRAL TRIBES OF THE SHAWNEE AREA AND APPOINTING PAUL SCHMIDLKOFER TO SERVE THE BALANCE OF THE TERM. WHEREAS, Article VIII of the Constitution of the Central Tribes of the Shawnee Area provides that a Tribal Business Committee may remove their respective mem ber(s) from the Board of Directors by a majority vote of said Business Committee, with cause, and, WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Business Committee of the of the Citizen Band Potawatomi Tribe that they have as one of their representatives, their Tribal Administrator, and, WHEREAS, the reason for this position is that the Tribal Administrator is a full time salaried employee and has the necessary time to devote to the Board of Directors', and, WHEREAS, Mr. Veitenheimer is no longer the Tribal Adminis- Trator. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That Mr. Veitenheimer is hereby removed from the Board of Directors of the Central Tribes of the Shawnee Area because he is no longer an employee of the tribe, and Mr. Paul Schmidlkofer is hereby appointed to serve out the balance of the term, said term expires on May 31, 1974.
