No Posting of Tribal Campaign Election Literature or Signs on Tribal Property Ordinance
BE IT ENACTED BY THE BUSINESS COMMITTEE OF THE CITIZEN POTAWATOMI
NATION:
SECTION 1. The 1987 election ordinance is hereby amended to add one new provision to
Article IV to be codified as Sec. S4-115 unless this creates a duplication in numbering.
SECTION 2. Sec.S4-115. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, corporation,
partnership, organization or association to post election literature, material or signs on Tribal
property. Posting of literature, signs or other partisan political activity strictly prohibited. The
distribution of tribal campaign literature will be allowed on election day at the tribal polling place,
subject to specifications in Sec. S4-110 which states in part, ". . . not inside or within one hundred
(100) feet of polling place. . ." Publications in the tribal newspaper, the How-Ni-Kan, are exempt
from this Ordinance.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be effective from and after the day of passage.
